Interested in volunteering in Nepal this summer, teaching English?

If so, come along to CU-HELP’s information evening on the 14th of November or e-mail CU-HELP for more information!

Unlike other volunteering schemes, HELP is very flexible about dates and most people teach for 4 weeks. With HELP, you get to teach in schools where children benefit so much from interacting with a native English speaker, and you become completely involved in village life, as you stay with a host family. You can apply in pairs or threes, or alone and we will pair you with someone.

Please come to the information evening if you’re at all interested. Message Freya Pentz if you have any questions at all, or want to hear about her time in Nepal and what it could be like for you!

CU-HELP is a small charity linked to the Nepali NGO ‘HELP’, who were established with the aim to improve education in government schools across the Helambu region of Nepal where government provision is scarce. CU-HELP sends out volunteers to teach English for 3-4 weeks (dates and length of stay are very flexible) in a partnership school. While teaching there, volunteers live with a host family in the community, getting a true feel for the country, No previous teaching experience is required – as long as you’re enthusiastic and like working with children that’s all that’s needed! You can apply individually or as a pair but they’ll always make sure that there’s more than one volunteer at each placement school. Following teaching placements, HELP also offer discounted trekking and visits to Chitwan National Park!
