Welcome to the website of the Lucy Cavendish College Students’ Union!

Lucy Cavendish College is one of the 31 Colleges which constitute the University of Cambridge. It was founded in 1965 and its uniqueness stems from its commitment to cater for the educational needs of mature women returning to university. Indeed, Lucy Cavendish is not just the only educational institution for women over twenty-one years old in Cambridge, but also in Europe.

The Students’ Union (SU) is a lively and vital part of life at Lucy Cavendish College. It organises social and sporting events, which give students the opportunity to switch off from their studies and relax, and keeps track of existing Societies at the College. It also provides a forum for students to express their thoughts and opinions about matters relating to their experience of life at Cambridge University. All Lucy Cavendish students are members of the SU, unless they opt out. As indicated in the Constitution, the roles of the SU committee cover a wide range of issues of interest to students. The SU committee is chosen every year by vote and any Lucy Cavendish student is welcome to run for the elections.

The purpose of this website is to present the portfolios of the SU committe members and Lucy Cavendish Societies, to offer information and advice to current and prospective students, and to publish the latest news related to LCCSU. Make sure to also visit the official website of Lucy Cavendish College regularly.
